Since I had my camera with me after I put in time trying to stay alive a little longer at the Monroe Branch YMCA, I decided I liked this view of the cornerstone and the old sign and got going on taking a picture.
A very pleasant woman, who I saw by her name badge was the Executive Director of this branch, was suddentlyh standing beside me and appeared interested in the picture I was taking.
She told me that his kind of Y Sign is very old. Not many of them left. She also told me that the red triangle on the "Y" alludes to the Christian origin of the YMCA's, as well as signifying "Mind, Body, Spirit", the aspects of one's life that are supposed to be enhanced if you venture inside. Most interesting....to me anyway.
