Western Sandpiper (Calidris mauri), Thomson Marsh, Kelowna, BC. -04 - soty17
NOTE: UPDATE! Thanks to NigelJE for questioning my ID of this one. See remarks in the Comments section below: I no longer think this is a Least Sandpiper (Calidris minutilla)!
All of this means, it's a lifer for me, and a rarity in this location!
Now that the water around the arboretum has almost entirely evaporated, I fear we'll have to say goodbye to the wading birds that had found us. It has been a great pleasure to work with these wee peeps!
