The XXVII Nationwide Latvian Song and XVII Dance Festival is taking place from 30 June till 9 July, 2023. The traditional march of the participants through the Riga city centre took around eight hours on 2 July. Tens of thousands of singers and dancers from all over Latvia fill the city with the sounds of folk music, creating a unique event on a world scale that has been included in the UNESCO list of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. The closing concert at the Mežaparks open-air stage is a unique experience to listen to the voices of more than 15 thousand singers. The first Latvian Sing and Dance Celebration was held in 1873,
