Anno 1818: wooden house on Turgeņeva Street in central Riga, Latvia. October 13, 2021
The building at 13 Turgeņeva Street preserves a considerable amount of original building details from different periods. The main volume of the building dates from 1818 (this dating is preserved on the original roof structures). The present volume was created in the second quarter of the 19th century when an extension was built to the 1818 volume on the courtyard side. Both the original volume and the extension were built on both sides in a structure of hewed horizontal beams joined at the corners corner-jointed building with projecting ends of logs. The original facade (as well as the adjacent building) was painted with light yellow flour paint. The original extent largely retains the 1818 layout, but the extension dates from the second quarter of the 19th century.
