Biggest Reserved store in Baltic States and Embassy of Norway coexist in this Kalku Street building in central Riga, Latvia. June 10, 2014

Originally a bank building designed by architect Janis Alksnis. Riga Pardaugava Mutual Credit Society Bank building on Kalku Street 15 (Anno 1913) has a special role in the history of Riga architecture: it is the first building in the city with the monolithic reinforced concrete frame construction. The banks usually deployed apartments in their upper floors, but this was a real office building. Office rooms occupied all the levels, the office space was originally created according to modern practice, the so-called great office concept, with no partition.
