This little bugger is deceiving. This wonderful model is also found in my step mom’s garden in front of my house. When I first glanced at the picture I thought it was going to be a cubic model. But when I modeled it I found out that a cubic did not fit very well. The cubic is seen by the green equation. So I pondered for awhile and figured out that I should try a quartic. The quartic is seen by the red line. This is a better model for the metal bird seed holder. I should have altered the domain on this model to so people could focus on just the curves. If you look at just the curves and not “tails” of each polynomial then you would see that the red line fits best!
