Ruby - stranger 407

Ruby was working in part of Bridlington’s Treasure Island amusement arcade when I saw her. As there wasn’t anyone at her counter, I decided to go over and introduce my stranger project to her.

I asked Ruby to stand near the front of her counter so more daylight illuminated her and then all I had to do was choose my angle so that nothing too bright or colourful appeared in the background as they would become distractions.

Ruby told me she had worked in Treasure Island for a year. Ruby had taken this job to support her whilst she studied law at college. Ruby was now in the second year of her course and when this was completed, she’d go to university to continue her studies. Ruby said her ultimate goal was to become a defence lawyer.

If Ruby could change one thing in the world it would be to make everything cheaper.

Thank-you Ruby for saying yes to being photographed for my stranger project. I hope you like your portrait.

This picture is number 407 in my 100 Strangers project, yes, I’ve decided to do a fifth round. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
