With the recent closure of the sea front in Torquay due to work on making the cliff above Rock Walk safe, the 12 has to make a detour. From Paignton, the detour starts at the Belgrave Road junction, and buses now go up Shedden Hill, down to Castle Circus, down Union Street and then to the Strand. Some displays have the large letters of the destination display as here, presumably to avoid confusion as part of the detour route is the same as when going to Brixham which is the other way.
