The bus is carrying a curious hybrid livery. It is mainly in its original livery dating back to 1976 but, presumably having sustained front end damage, the lower front panels are in the later livery style introduced in 1980. It didn't run long in this condition, soon receiving a full repaint into 1980s livery. The only other example I can recall of this mixture of liveries occurred with No. 83, although in that case 83 was still predominantly green Ipswich Corporation livery, and the 1980s style lower front panels didn't look so odd.
There was a much later case of "mixed liveries" when Atlantean No. 6 was selected for preservation. Work started on repainting it into original livery, but it had to be returned to service before the work could be completed, so it ran for a short while with the lower deck in one livery and the upper deck in another!
