Ipswich Travel Bova Europa VWX 371X, Cavendish Street, Ipswich, 1987.

In May 1987 Ipswich Buses acquired the business of Bantam Coaches, with a view to expanding into the general coaching and private hire market. The Bantam name was quickly discarded in favour of a new title "Ipswich Travel". VWX 371X (which became fleet number 331) was one of two 1982 ex Wallace Arnold Bova Europas also acquired in May 1987 to "upgrade" the newly acquired fleet. VWX 371X is seen here at the former Bantam premises in Cavendish Street, Ipswich in an experimental livery for the new fleet (it was not perpetuated). Ipswich Travel operations were subsequently transferred to Ipswich Buses' main depot in Constantine Road.
