This sculpture of Devas (Gods) and Asuras (Demons) churning the ocean of milk using the great snake Vasuki as the rope can be seen on either side of the entrance to many temples. This story "Palazhi-Mathanam" is also depicted in some other tourist locations. Here one of the teams is holding the snake Vasuki in the process of churning
