A Kid'll Eat Ivy Too
Spotted these goats in a suburban subdivision. I made a U-turn and pulled over to sketch them from my car. That created a traffic hazard, as two other cars pulled up behind me to look at the goats. So I thought I'd better not linger too long.
They're from a goat rental company, which had erected a temporary electrified pen for them on a brush-covered hillside. I assume their assignment was to clear invasive English ivy or privet.
A line from the 1943 novelty song "Mairzy Doats" came to mind as a caption. According to Wikipedia, that song can be traced, via an English nursery rhyme, back to a 15th century manuscript with the words "Is gote eate yvy? Mare eate ootys."
