Ha Giang

by Georg Dombrowski

Ha Giang as a province is a breathtaking place. A Canadian traveler said about the region: "You just go one meter further and you think that is the nicest thing I ever seen". And from my point of view and from the expierence I had in Ha Giang, I can only agree. I have been there for 4 days, the first day I just walked around the villiage in which my homestay was in, as well as there neighboring village. And I pushed the trigger buttom of my camera approximatly 1000 times. The next day was not any different. I did a guided hike in the mountains and my shutter went of about as many times as the day before. Usally I prefer to take less pictures to capture my surroundings or moments. But every person was so special, every new view was so lovely. I feel that I couldn't have shown the place to you with less pictures. The other day a guide showed me another small village by motorbike. The last day I just travelt 70 km on my on my own trough the province. In this region you find allot of ethnic minorities. There roots are still quiet strong, but I guess it will change soon. In Vietnam everything develops quiet fast. And eventhough that this region is very hilly and because of that not as many people live there as in the lowlands, you can see allot of new streets. The wooden houses are very populare, but stone houses seems to become more and more populare. I wish the people of that region the best! I looking foreward what I will capture there next time. Because this is a place I will devenetly visit again in my life.
