Calke Abbey & Gardens - September 2018
Welcome to Calke's Garden.
The gardens you see today date back to the eighteenth century.
Grand formal gardens once stood to the east and south of the house.
The flower garden you see here remained almost untouched until the 1980's, now repaired rather than restored.
The area was overgrown and derelict however, the pattern of the beds and location of the paths were visible.
The flower garden was re-instated and planted as a high Victorian flower garden providing a vibrant display of colour during spring and summer.
