NC - Randolph County - Asheboro - The Gatekeeper's House
I found out a little bit more about The Gatekeeper's House. It was originally on Sunset Avenue. It was built around 1890 as the home of the gatekeeper of the J. Basil Fisher Estate.
J.Basil Fisher was a British military officer who moved to Asheboro. Around 1919 his home became the second Randolph Hospital. It burned in 1934.
I found more photos of the Gatekeeper's House and the Fisher Estate in the historic photo site of the Asheboro/Randolph Library, which is where I got the above information.
