Marua Evening, Looking West
A late evening view to the West, Marua, Northland, New Zealand. It took me quite a long time (a surprising amount of time actually given the view) to get a composition I was happy with from this vantage point. The light was very contrasty, and I struggled not only with the composition but also with filtration and exposure. In this case I used a 0.9 and 0.6 stop ND filters stacked, and slanted across the frame to balance the exposure. The result was less than satisfactory with some reflections within the filters/lens. I view this as a 'first attempt' at a scene I hope to revisit. 30mm lens, GFX, film stock emulation: Velvia 50 (Mastin Labs).
