Stormy Disapointment

Procedure:

Set up tripod. Open balcony door. Set camera to 30 sec. Select continuous mode. Start taking shots as the storm rolls in. Go do work while the camera captures the storm.

This storm had thunder as loud that the building almost rumbled and lighting that lit up the whole apartment, but this shot was the best out of 80 or so. The shots with the best lighting almost had white skies, but not lighting.

Why? Maybe I exposed these shots too much? Maybe the lighting hit behind or outside the range of the camera? I will hope for more storms to experiment more. I do think that it is key to shot the storm as it approaches since it may be easier to catch the lighting - I was late this time.
