Many of the above-ground parts of the Town Hall and Tower had to be repaired or rebuilt after the War, but the upper Astrolabe (depicting the positions of the sun and moon) survived and has been operating with just a few interruptions for over 607 years, making it the oldest operating astronomical clock in Europe (and the third oldest, function or nonfunctioning.
