Zonotrichia albicollis has two genetically-determined but behaviorally distinct color-morphs: tan-striped and white-striped. These white-striped individuals, who are typically more aggressive and prone to polyamory, typically mate with more restrained, monogamous tan-stripes, producing both types of offspring and thus maintaining a balanced polymorphism in a regional population.
