B 36
The B36 was the first bomber built by the United States during the Cold War that had the range to get into the Soviet Union without refueling and had the room to hold the early bulkier Atomic bombs in the US arsenal at the time. Originally conceived during the second World War it didn't make it into production until after the war where 384 were built and only 4 intact planes are left in the world today. It was only in service from 1949-1959 and became obsolete when the vastly faster and more versatile and upgradeable B-52 bombers went into service in 1955.
