Stress Test FreeNAS Plex jail

Finding the breaking point for my new FreeNAS Plex Server build.

Gigabyte Z97X-SLI LGA 1150 ATX

32GB Crucial Ballistix Sport PC3-12800

5x WDIDLED WD Green drives in RaidZ1

2x Mirrored 256GB Samsung 850 EVO for Plex jail

Antec 750w silent gold PSU

 

Will handle up to 8 1080p transcodes. Source files are H265 10bit HEVC. Plex transcoder is set to Automatic quality.

Buffer length for transcoding set to 3 minutes before throttling.

 

Will occasionally play 9 without buffering, but 10 causes consistent buffering and drop-outs.
