Manure Loading
Some may have wondered what happened to my usual daily postings. My interest in modern railroads has really waned, to the point of only having gone out twice so far in 2022, and that was for the LA&L. Agricultural pursuits have become our primary focus lately. We have built up our flock of chickens, ducks, and geese to over 60 birds. Much planning has gone into this years pumpkin crop. I have been able to secure some manure from a neighbor that lives about 1.5 miles away. It takes me 30 minutes to make a round trip to get a load, since the tractors top speed is probably somewhere around 10mph. It then takes us about an hour to unload the wagon with pitch forks. We should have some happy plants in the garden this year, and with the price of commercial fertilizer having doubled, this also helps with the budget since it is free!
