It was getting late and a storm was moving in when the WNYP Emporium Turn was bringing sand loads from the South side of town to the yard at Emporium, PA on the evening of June 1, 2019. Brian Plant and I were the only 2 souls out in the elements recording history. This reminds me of the Lanesboro Detours in 1985 when we knew the end was near for the D&H Penn Division between Lanesboro, PA and Nineveh, NY. I made every effort to get to Lanesboro that summer. After this outing, the crowds really showed up whenever the trains ran to either Emporium or Driftwood. I kept going down as much as possible, until my last trip in late October 2019.
