G&W 46 leads the "salt shaker" down the old main at Brooks Ave. Yard in Gates, NY on June 23, 1986. Chessie cats for RS97 are just starting to head down into the South end of the yard to get its train. The G&W got trackage rights into Rochester and to Silver Springs for its salt traffic, eliminating the Conrail turn that ran out of Rochester down to P&L Jct., and eliminating the D&H turn that ran to Griegsville.
