Conrail 7600 Lima Branch

Conrail RS-11 7600 is leading the Lima local North and about to cross the old Lehigh Valley main at Rochester Jct. in Mendon, NY on May 3, 1979. The branch was known as the Rochester Branch on the LV and it had two halves. The North half ran from Rochester Jct. up to Rochester, NY. The South half ran from Rochester Jct. originally down to Hemlock. Part of the South half was abandoned between Lima and Hemlock in 1968. The locals called the branch South of Rochester Jct. simply as the Lima branch, although that probably was never its official name.
