Many thanks to Whidbey artist Judith Burns for reminding me about "International Big Draw Day". I had totally forgotten that this happens every year, and absolutely did not know that it was a celebration down at the Burke Museum. So I hied it off Whidbey Island, and over to Amerika (gasp! all the way down to the University District) for a visit to the Burke. Realized that I had not been there for almost 50!!!! years (how is that even possible???!!!) Anyway, I joined a whole lot of other sketchers and drawers for a lovely couple of hours of shared art. So HARD to pick one subject, but I finally settled on a really nice display of PNW First People's ceremonial masks. I also met Riko, a lovely young man who admired my sketchbook and we began a conversation in the universal language of sketchers - "So, what kind of pens? What kind of paints? What kind of paper?" So enjoyable!
