consumer choice, is more choice always a good thing? (close-up)

Is more choice automatically a good thing? Or does offering more choice just end up increasing complexity, costs and cause customers mental fatigue?

 

"What's on TV" and "TV Choice" are actually two different magazines from two separate publishers (IPC and Bauer respectively), even though these magazine issues look almost identical.
