Metro Cinema, Kolkata

Opened in 1935, the Metro Cinema was run till 1972 by MGM to promote their films in Calcutta. A Metro Cinema is also present in Mumbai. Single screen cinema houses are having a tough time in today's mall-multiplex scenario.

 

The building next to it is the Metropolitan Insurance building which is under renovation.
