This is a photo taken in the '80s, which was scanned in to create a digital file, is of a fierce winter storm on Lake Ontario in late December.

 

As it intensified, spray covered and froze on trees along the shore, causing some of the saplings to snap off. The wind blew for more than 24 hours.
