The earliest time I've ever gotten up for birding, 2am, was to see this rare bird 4 hrs away at Lake Havasu. Our group of 8 rented a boat and saw this bird in the nick of time. This kittiwake circled our boat several times giving us obliging views and nice photo opportunities.
