White-throated Thrush

Madera Canyon--Proctor Rd., Pima County, AZ.

This white-throated thrush was our main target in Arizona. This thrush is an ABA code 4 bird which likely moved up from the mountains of northern Mexico because of a cold snap. It's the first record for Arizona. This bird associated with a group of robins, often discretely foraging on the ground. Definitely a hard bird to photograph as it didn't perch up in the hackberries as it has in the past.
