Staintons Olympic Holidays, Kendal, B11FWS - Volvo B10M - Jonckheere Mistral 50

This plain but tidy B10M is seen here at Barrow-in-Furness Railway Station in early June 2006. It was operating a rail replacement service to Grange-over-Sands due to the Leven Viaduct, just south of Ulverston, having a major refurbishment and to allow higher speeds. Network Rail were responsible for the design and construction of a £13m competitively tendered project with Carillion to reconstruct the superstructure on the 49 span viaduct. This refurbishment was over a sixteen weeks period. It was completed in July 2006. Local coach operators and Stagecoach in Cumbria were used throughout. I'm unsure when this was acquired by Staintons and also was it another ex-Park's, Hamilton, Scotland motor similar to B10FWS ? Seen alongside is a similar coach from Hodgson, Millom, in 318EVO. This is another coach I have no further details on. Please see further details below kindly supplied by www.flickr.com/photos/daryl83/.

The camera being a Pentax MZ-M with the film being a Fujichrome Colourslide.

I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 2006.
