Preserved former London Transport - RM1101 101CLT - AEC/PRV Routemaster R2RH - Park Royal
Now then, where do I start with the description of this former LT RM? I won't list the full details or else I'd be here all night and it would stretch to three pages, safe to say it was new to LT in 02/1962, entering service from Fulwell in 05/1962. In 12/1990 it was re-registered KGH969A when in service out of the Victoria garage. In 1991 it was re-fitted with an Iveco engine in the refurbishment programme. Withdrawn from Upton Park, in 03/1994, it was sold to A1A Travel, Birkenhead. In 10/1995, it was re-registered KFF367 and in 1998 it was preserved by Friends of the Wirral Transport Museum. By 05/2002, it received this livery seen here for the late Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee, a livery more suited to here Diamond Jubilee that took place shortly before here sad death on 08/09/2022. In 11/2002, it received its original reg. but by 10/2009 it reverted back to KFF367. 101CLT went onto a former Lothian Regional Transport Alexander bodied Leyland Olympian. It was bought by London Necrobus, repainted black and used on their Ghost Bus Tours. By 07/2014, it had moved north to York for the same duties and was still there in 2019. That was about as short as I could get that! It is seen here on Shore Road, Birkenhead, when at its then home event, The Wirral Bus & Tram Show, on 02/10/2005. For more detailed info. on the RM, please see www.countrybus.org/RM/RM7g11.html.
The camera being a Pentax MZ-M with the film being a Jessops Colourslide.
I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 2005.
