Preserved London Transport - RT2291 KGU320 - AEC Regent Mk.III O961 - Weymann

This Weymann bodied version of London's ubiquitous RT was new in 08/1949 entering service from the Dalston garage. After life with LT, it worked as a promotional bus for a couple of companies prior to being 'abandoned' on a farm. There are not many photos of it in 'flikrland' and although it has been on the rally circuit in the past, it looks as if it has recently received a further and thorough restoration. Looking smart, it is seen here Castle Street, Llangollen, when returning "home" having been on display at the Llangollen Railway Classic Transport Weekend, Glyndyfrdwy Station, Wales, on 03/07/2022. This weekend was returning after a three year hiatus. This RT is being closely followed by something a bit more unusual in preserved SHMD, 76, VTU76, a centre-entrance/exit Northern Counties bodied Daimler CVG6DD. This was new to the Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley & Dukinfield Transport and Electricity board in 1956. © Peter Steel 2022.
