Buses through the ages - A difference in designs.

These two very different design of buses are seen here on display at The Bus & Coach Show, British Commercial Vehicle Museum, Leyland, on 18/03/2012. On the left of the photo, and technically a coach, is preserved former Hutchison, Overtown, Scotland, EVD580, a Plaxton bodied Leyland Tiger PS1. Preserved in Bee Line, Hartlepool, livery, it was new to Hutchison, in 09/1949. It was latterly preserved in the livery of Wm. Low, Tomintoul, Scotland, an operator it worked for after Hutchison. Alongside, and very different being nearly sixty years newer is Tyrers, Adlington, PN09OKA, an coach seated Optare Olympus bodied tri-axle Volvo B9TL. Capable of seating some 100 passengers, it was new to Tyrers, in 06/2009, along with sister PN09OKB. © Peter Steel 2012.
