Comfort DelGro Metroline - DMS13 S513KFL - Dennis Dart SLF SFD112 - Marshall Capital C39
Many of the "Marshall Darts", as they were known by, were of the longer DML class, however there were some of the shorter Darts delivered, including this one, to some operators with MTL London Northern reviving the well known ill-fated DMS code of those pesky Metro-Cammell and Park Royal bodied Daimler Fleetlines which London Transport found to be a handful for London work, although provincial operators seemed to have no problems, or very few. Back to the Darts and this one is seen here at Brent Cross Shopping Centre, on 27/07/2000, having worked in on Service 326 Barnet - Whetstone - Finchley Central - Hendon - Brent Cross Shopping Centre. New to MTL London Northern, in 08/1998, at the time when MTL was taken over by Harrow based Metroline Travel and thus became Metroline London Northern. It was the first numerically in the batch of seventeen, DMS13-29, S513KFL etc. Entering service from Potters Bar when new, it stayed there until withdrawal in 07/2008 when it was sold to Ensign Bus, Purfleet, who in a dealer capacity sold it Carousel Buses, High Wycombe, two months later.
As a footnote, this photo was taken with my then new camera, a Pentax MZ-M. Obviously I was getting used to the settings as a few of these have turned out a little dark.
The camera being a Pentax MZ-M with the film being a Fujichrome Colourslide.
