Arriva London North - DBS7 N607DWY - DAF DB250RS - Northern Counties CountyBus Palatine II

In 1995 Leaside Buses, who were part of the Cowie Group, were awarded the contract for the 263 (Archway Station - Barnet General Hospital), to start in 02/1996. For this they ordered thirteen these DAFs with single-doorway Palatine II bodies, probably because Hughes-DAF was part of the Cowie empire. The buses arrived from stock in 10/1995, so were used for contracts, then in 01/1996, on the 221, until the 263 was ready for takeover. When the Cowie Group was re-named Arriva, these DAFs became part of Arriva London North and DBS7 is seen here devoid of any fleetnames when climbing High Street, Barnet, on Service 263, on 31/07/1998. Based at Wood Green from new, this one went under repair, in 04/2001 then was transferred to Enfield Repair Centre, in 07/2001. Later in 2001, it was transferred to Arriva North West, Manchester, then in 08/2010 it moved to Liverpool, still under Arriva North West control, for school contracts. These details and more can be found at www.countrybus.org/DAF/DBS_a.htm#fleet.

The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the Boots Colourslide II.
