As well as building their own integral coaches Auwärter Neoplan also made this Transliner body available to a few chassis manufacturers. For the U.K. market, it would be the British built Dennis Javelin and the German built MAN chassis. This Dennis Javelin example, seen here at Blackpool Pleasure Beach Coach Park, on 26/06/2011, was new to Timline(915), Bolton, in 09/1995. If I remember correctly, Timeline, originally based at Leigh, was born out of the bus operating side of Smiths-Shearings, the well known former tour operator, who upon deregulation of bus services, ventured into Manchester area local and tendered services. This smart Javelin was delivered in a batch of seventeen. It's primary use with Manchester Airport was as a driver trainer but it was also used on the occasional private hire, probably as seen here. © Peter Steel 2011.
