Kentish Bus - 125 L125YVK - Dennis Dart 9SDL3034 - Northern Counties Countybus Paladin

New to Kentish Bus in 03/1994, this Dart was delivered in a large batch of forty-five spread over three months and was to be followed by another two in 06/1994. The North-East registration plates were as a result of Kentish Bus being owned, at the time of delivery, by Proudmutual, the owners of Northumbria Motor Services. Kentish Bus was re-named from London Country(South East) in 04/1987. London Country(South East) was formed from the split of London Country in 09/1986. In 07/1994, around the time when this photo was taken, the fast-expanding British Bus group purchased Proudmutual, British Bus themselves being purchased by the Cowie group in 08/1996. Cowie now known of course as Arriva. This Dart is seen here on A1211 Aldgate High Street, passing Aldgate(Minories) Bus Station, London, on 27/07/1994. There had been a number of types operated by Kentish Bus on this route, these Darts replacing MCW/Optare Metroriders. On the right of the photo, and heading for Dulwich, is London Buses - London Central, T924, A924SYE, a Leyland bodied Leyland Titan TNLXB2RRSp, new in 02/1984.

The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent Fujichrome colourslide.

I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 1994.
