Cloudless Sky
This photo was taken looking in a south-westerly direction from Thorney Nook, Walney Island, Barrow-in-Furness, on a lovely 22/02/2021. The white building in the distance, is Walney Lighthouse. This active lighthouse was completed in 1804 with the lighthouse and it's attached cottages actually pre-dating the Barrow-in-Furness and it's port. It replaced a smaller wooden lighthouse that was built in 1790. With a focal height of 21m(69ft.), it has a range of 23 nautical miles. © Peter Steel 2021.
