Park Royal's on Parade
These two contrasting Park Royal bodied AEC's are seen here at Grand Prix Coaches, Brough, Cumbria, on 24/04/2011, when attending the Eden Classic Vehicle Weekend. On the right of the photo and preparing for departure back 'home', is preserved Kelvin Scottish 1929, EDS288A, an AEC/PRV Routemaster R2RH. New to London Transport(RM910), registered WLT910, in 08/1961, this immaculate Routemaster was one of the many of the type bought at the height of deregulation by Clydeside Scottish and Kelvin Scottish for competitive services in Glasgow. This is a popular event from those north of the border. On the left and, something a little more local, preparing for a run to Kirkby Stephen and then back home is Morecambe Heritage Bus Company, Morecambe, 62 KTF591, an AEC Regent Mk. III 9612E. New to Morecambe & Heysham Corporation(62), in 09/1949, as a standard closed-top bus, it was/currently is used on a service in it's home town between Winter Gardens and Happy Mount Park although I'm unsure of it's current status if I'm being honest. © Peter Steel 2011.
