Preserved London Transport - RT3496 LYR915 - AEC Regent Mk.III O961 - Weymann
New to LT in 04/1952, this venerable member of the RT class and one of the few survivors that carried 'Country area' green livery, is seen here on display at a bus rally at the being held at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton, near Aylesbury, on 30/05/1994. After 'Country area' London life it missed out narrowly on being exported with many RT's to Ceylon and stayed on British shores operating for the well known Leeds based operator, Samuel Ledgard, who operated a number of the class, then to Continental Pioneer, Richmond, Surrey, prior to entering preservation.
The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent Fujichrome.
I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 1994.
