London Buses - London General - M913 A913SUL - MCW Metrobus DR101/16 - Metro-Cammell
A popular class with London Transport and it's successors, the MCW Metrobus was a useful vehicle to cover their double-deck needs. New to London Transport in 1983 operating out of Shepherd's Bush from 10/1983, this then near ten years old example is seen here on layover at Cromwell Road Bus Station, Kingston-upon-Thames, in late 07/1993. It was operating out of Sutton depot, or garage in LT parlance. In late 1999, it was bought by Camden Coaches, who despite it's north London sounding name, was based at West Kingsdown, near Sevenoaks, Kent. It then moved onto Shire Coaches, St. Albans then onto Kelly Coaches, South Mimms, prior to being withdrawn and cannibalised for spares in 03/2006. Not a bad service life after being hammered around the suburbs of south and west London.
The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent Fujichrome.
I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 1993.
