Preserved 'decker differences

The main theme here being the two half-cab double deck buses painted in red. Nearest the camera is London Transport RT2794, LYR964, a Park Royal bodied AEC Regent Mk.III 0961. It was new in 01/1952 and unlike it's successor, the RM class Routemaster, the RT was bodied by a couple of other coachbuilders whereas the RM was purely Park Royal bodied being built in conjunction with Park Royal. Alongside is Keighley-West Yorkshire Road Car KDG26, CWX671, a Roe bodied Bristol K5G. New in 12/1938 bodied by ECW, it received this Roe body in 04/1950. Just squeezing in on the far right of the photo is preserved Crosville Wales DVG521, BMA521W, an ECW bodied Bristol VRT/SL3/6LXB. It was new to Crosville in 07/1981. They are seen here at Heaton Park, Manchester, at the Trans-Lancs Rally on 05/09/2010. © Peter Steel 2010.
