Reading Buses - 424 OCU775R - Scania Metropolitan BR111DH - Metro-Cammell
On my previous visit to Reading in late May/early June 1988, Reading Transport had built up a collection of these diesel guzzling Metropolitans, this one being new to Tyne & Wear PTE(775), in 04/1977. It is seen here on my next visit on 17/05/1991 and is approaching it's stop on Station Hill opposite Reading Railway Station. Now there is a coincidence in this shot of 424. Following on from the previous photo of 406, OUC105R, an ex-London Transport example, it is in exactly the same sequence of these two buses when I took their photographs back in that visit in 1988! During this visit, Reading Transport was in the process of becoming Reading Buses around the time off this visit and although a well kept fleet, there were around five different liveries on display.
The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent 'Fujichrome' colourslide.
