Reading Buses - 460 E460SON - MCW Metrobus Mk.II - Metro-Cammell
Following on from the previous photo, here, 460 is seen here on Station Hill, Reading, opposite Reading Railway Station, heading for Woodley on 17/05/1991. It was acquired from the low cost Harrow Buses unit of London Buses where it was numbered M1460, being new in 12/1987. These were leased by Harrow Buses. It is still carrying Harrow Buses livery albeit with Reading Transport livery and town crest. It is passing 413, KJD246P, a Metro-Cammell bodied Scania Metropolitan BR111DH. That was new to London Transport(MD46) in 05/1976 and was on layover prior to working to Woodley. Reading Transport was in the process of becoming Reading Buses around the time off this visit and although a well kept fleet, there were around five different liveries on display.
The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent 'Fujichrome' colourslide.
I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 1991.
