London Buses - South London - DMS2492 THX492S - Leyland Fleetline B20 FE30ALR - Park Royal

The 'B20' version of the Fleetline was specifically for London use, outward differences being the engine vent 'stacks' at the rear. As soon as the last of the much maligned DMS class had arrived at London Transport, then the first were being withdrawn and in no particular order really. If you wanted your 'B20' fix as late as the 1990's, then West Croydon was the place to be where this South London example is seen at the bus station on 27/12/1990. It was new to London Transport in 01/1978. Another of those fitted with an Iveco engine, it was passed around various depots and was based at Brixton when this photo was taken. A sister example is seen alongside with a different placing of the registration plate.

The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent 'Fujichrome' colourslide.
