London Buses - Metroline - RML2439 JJD439D - AEC/PRV Routemaster R2RH/1 - Park Royal

New to London Transport(RML2439), in 03/1966, this Willesden based RML is seen here at Victoria Station in late 05/1990 together with preserved, Hart, Harrow, but on loan to Bus Engineering Limited, RCL2254, CUV254C, a similar former Country area Routemaster that was built to a higher spec. It was new to London Transport(RCL2254), in 07/1965. Bus Engineering Limited(BEL) was the engineering arm of London Buses. They were on a tour of the capital after Willesden depot raised £2000 for Thames Television - LWT Telethon on 27/05/1990. Unfortunately, I had a photo of the RCL but for some reason it was transposed with Southend Transport 107, WLT993. Ironically, that was ex-London Transport RM993, a standard Routemaster that was new in 05/1962.

The camera was a Praktica MTL3.

I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 1990.
