Brighton & Hove 270 JWV270W Bristol VRT/SL3/680 - ECW
New to Southdown(270), in 04/1981, it was transferred to Brighton & Hove on formation on 01/01/1986 after the split of Southdown. Unlike my previous photo of a Brighton & Hove VR, this one is powered by a Leyland 0680 engine rather than the Gardner 6LXB and is single entrance/exit rather than dual-doored. It is seen here at Old Steine, Brighton, in 06/1989. In contrast behind is 113, C113UBC, an East Lancs bodied Scania N112DRB. It was new to Leicester Citybus(113), in 07/1986 and was therefore a youthful acquisition by Brighton & Hove.
The camera being a Praktica MTL3.
I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 1989.
