Preserved South Yorkshire's Transport - M3 OWJ353A - Leyland Titan PD3/4 - Roe
New to Doncaster Corporation in 12/1962 as No.175(475HDT) originally as a forward entrance double-deck(H38/32F), this PD3 was converted in 1979 by South Yorkshire Transport and re-registered in 08/1986 being acquired for preservation in 1994. (For the uninitiated, it's the 'bus' on the nearside lane with the stripes!). It is seen stuck in traffic on the M55 at the junction of the M55 and the M6 near Preston, on 04/09/2016, when heading for the 2016 Trans-Lancs Transport Show at Heaton Park, Manchester.
This photo was taken from preserved Barrow Corporation 169, CEO956, a 1958 Park Royal bodied Leyland Titan PD2/40 while heading for the same venue. At this point, after just passing the M55 junction we were held up in traffic due to an RTA involving a car and an artic. truck. We could have gone through Preston, however we decided to stay on the motorway. Unfortunately, it was the wrong option as we sat here for another hour and a half or thereabouts.
